Question
Describe: “Colloids”
Answer
A solution in which the solute particles are much larger (orders of magnitude) larger than the solvent molecules, but not so large that they settle out of solution due to gravity. These solute particles can be either very large individual solute molecules, of aggregations of smaller solute molecules. Aerosols, foams, emulsions, and sols are all types of colloids.
