Project Desciption

Assume we are looking at the relief of the area we are looking at stretches from the Blue Mountains (located in Colorado) to the mouth of the Little Turkey Creek (also located in Colorado). The relief is said to be 1,130.50 meters.

There is a large reverse fault within that stretch of the two locations that separates the Precambrian Metamorphic and Igneous Rocks, from the Mesozoic Sedimentary Rocks. Hard rocks occupy the faults hanging wall (which t0 the west). Sandstone and Shale underlie the High Plains (to the east). The regional climate of this area is Semi-arid.

If the fault has been inactive for millions of years, “how does the CLIMATE help explain how the relief (1,130.50 m) has remained so high, for so long?”
